The Sekisui S-Lec B.V. Resin Plant in Chemelot, Geleen is part of Sekisui S-Lec B.V. Europe, which in turn is part of Sekisui Chemical Co. Ltd, the Japanese chemical company. Sekisui S-Lec is the producer of PVB-interlayer film and produces in 6 locations throughout the world. The PVB-interlayer film has applications in what is known as laminated glass in the auto and architecture industry. Sekisui S-Lec uses 2 production locations to supply its own required resources, which is the PVB-resin. In addition to the production location in Minakuchi, Japan, the location in Geleen has been actively producing PVB-resin since the beginning of 2007. This production location supplies Sekisui S-Lec divisions worldwide. The production is mainly bulk and partly bigbags. Approximately 65 employees are active within Geleen, of which most are direct personnel. Supportive department like Finance, IT, Human Resources etcetera are supporting both locations. SECTION LEADER MAINTENANCE Reports to Manager Operations JOB PURPOSE/GENERAL Realizing the execution of maintenance and construction activities and improvement of maintenance performance, to such an extent that goals in terms of maintenance performance and KPI’s are reached. The production location in Geleen consists of 3 departments: the Supply Chain Department, the Technical Department and the Operations Department. The Supply Chain Department is responsible for all goods transition (f.e. inbound, outbound, planning), Technical Department is ultimately responsible for meeting the specified quality requirement and process development. The Operations Department is responsible for the direct production of PVB-resin. The department is subdivided into the Production, Operations Improvement Engineering, and Maintenance Sections. The department works with multifunctional teams. The Section Leader Maintenance makes and manages the action plan for the Maintenance Section. The focus lies on managing maintenance performance and KPI’s. EXPECTED RESULTS/ JOB RELATED ACTIVITIES Input for policy Production Department • Making and supporting proposals for the policy and budget of the Operations Department, specifically for equipment maintenance and improvement • Analyzing maintenance data and maintenance forecasts • Designing the action plan (including legal plan and PO-plan) for the maintenance section based on the policy for the Operations Department • Designing long-term maintenance planning • Determining and discussing bottlenecks and solving them • Developing long-term plans to optimize maintenance performance • Developing KPI’s for the Maintenance Section based on the policy for the Operations Department Management of Maintenance section • Determining and realizing the quality and quantity of (internal and external) staffing, building and keeping the relationship with contractors • (re) dividing activities and responsibilities and developing procedures, working methods and regulations • Taking care of an optimal coherence between section activities with other sections, consulting with Section Leaders/Managers • Monitoring and controlling costs and expenses within the budget • Monitoring and controlling KPI’s (human resources, material, and execution of activities) • Supplying information to management concerning investments, supporting proposals for improvement Realization of maintenance activities • Realizing maintenance activities according to schedule and standards concerning quality (e.g. ISO 9001 and technical integrity), quantity, safety, arbo and environment • Being familiar with MoC-procedure (Management of Change) • Assessing and accepting the schedule and assuring availability of resources, people, materials and machines • Being responsible for electrical installation or delegation of such • Monitoring the progress of the maintenance activities and taking care of coordination with all departments • Monitoring operational condition of installations, e.g. 5S • Assessing results of maintenance activities • Taking decisions according to results • Intervening in the execution of activities when results lead to this • Keeping in touch with contractors and suppliers considering services, supplies and complaints Improvement of maintenance performance • Analyzing maintenance data supplied by Maintenance Coordinator • Analyzing and minimizing down time • Substantiating proposals for optimization of maintenance, e.g. Kaizen projects • Coordinating improvement projects Maintenance data • Controlling registered maintenance data regarding management information (both internal and external) • Investigating differences between actual results and budgeted expenses/returns • Reporting and expounding maintenance results • Preparing for vacation and planning for the absence of the Maintenance Section • Planning the work and personnel, and determining priorities • Evaluating the achievements of the Maintenance team • Coordinating and supervising the several activities in progress • Having performing (planning, coaching and evaluation) interviews and assessment interviews with the Maintenance team • Monitoring the progress based on specified KPI’s and action plan, and ensure quality of execution Available expertise • Keeping expertise up-to-date • Contributing expertise in the area of maintenance • Staying up-to-date with developments within the area of expertise; building and maintaining knowledge regarding maintenance Maintained Rules • Assessing work permits and work instructions • Guarding the Chemical Industry safety regulations with focus on Process Safety • Guarding arbo-regulations, as well as Environmental, Health & Safety Laws and
Regulations and contribute to external (f.e. SEVEZO/BRZO, Technical Integrity audit)
and internal audits • Assessing the consequences of the process in terms of prohibited chemicals, complying to legal and corporate regulation Reports to: Operations Manager Manages: Maintenance Coordinator, 3 Maintenance Work Preparators, 4 Maintenance Officers and contractors KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Working and thinking level • HBO+ Education/experience • Preferably experience in a BRZO/Sevezo Chemical Industry environment • VCA • Verbal and writing English skills suitable for the job INTERESTED?
